John has always painted and, over the years, his work has developed and moved through several stages. Whilst still believing firmly in drawing skills being at the heart of good painting, he now works in a more abstracted style.
Experienced in oils and watercolour, he currently concentrates on acrylics, and his works, mostly using landscape or still life as the source of an idea, reveal his enjoyment of the exploration of form, line and colour. He is also a skilled cartoonist working under the pen-name of ERIK.
A long-time member of the West Wycombe Art Group, he is also a former Chairman of the Armed Forces Art Society (www.afas.org.uk).
He exhibits regularly in the Mall Galleries and has shown at several exhibitions both in the local area and in London.
