I am a self taught artist and have benefited greatly from being a member of West Wycombe Art Group for over 25 years. I exhibit my work at their annual exhibition held during the August Bank Holiday weekend.

Bucks Open Studios is another event which I have also been taking part in for the past 7 years. It gives visitors the opportunity to watch local artists as they work on a painting or drawing, at the same time as being able to view the exhibition.

My paintings are mainly of still life subjects and I especially enjoy painting flowers. For these I prefer to use watercolour and ink.

It’s very satisfying to sit in front of a beautiful vase of flowers and take time in creating a painting that pleases me. I also enjoy landscapes and portraits using acrylics, oils or pastels.

As my style is sensitive to the subject matter I tend to use mainly watercolour, ink and pastel which I feel reflects the subtleness of colour. However if the subject requires a stronger contrast I then use acrylics or oils.
