Thanks to Tim's great idea to keep our Monday night club sessions going, we've been meeting online to paint portraits from a shared photograph. Here are some of the results.

Another great demo from Peter. Working in oils he did this portrait of Stefan in around 90 minutes, while chatting to and entertaining the audience.
It was great to welcome back Hashim Akib with another of his excellent demonstrations in vibrant acrylics. He produced two amazing portraits during his entertaining and informative 2-hour demo.
With Sally Fisher
February 2019
Thanks to Sally for a varied and informative portrait demonstration back in February. Thanks also to
Bill Hester for sitting!
Thanks to the talented George Boyter for an enjoyable watercolour demonstration in March 2019.
It is with great sadness that we have to report the passing of Richard Dixon Moorfield in September 2019.
Dick was a valued member of the Group and was recognised for his contribution to the WWII effort when he was awarded the Legion D'Honneur at the French Embassy in London in 2017. He was a month short of his 95th birthday when he died and will be much missed by all at the Group. Our deepest sympathies go out to his wife Mary, his family and loved ones.
The Art Group's annual summer exhibition is held over the August bank holiday weekend, Friday to Monday in the Village Hall, West Wycombe.
Each member artist shows at least one panel of pictures and there will be an assorted collection of larger paintings on view.
Each year a Group member is honoured with being the Featured Artist and as such has their screens in pride of place in the gallery.
All work on display (unless marked otherwise) is for sale, including limited edition greeting cards, unframed works and sculpture.
Doors open to the public at 10am in the mornings Friday through Bank Holiday Monday until 5pm and a very sociable private view is held on the Friday evening from 7pm.
WWII veteran Dick Moorfield receives Legion D'Honneur in London ceremony
We were all very proud of WWAG member Dick, who received his honour at the recent London ceremony, accompanied by his wife Mary.

Wins prize for the Best Contemporary Work at the 2018 Armed Forces Art Society Exhibition held at the Menier Gallery in Southwark Street, London.
Well done John. In his typically modest tone he commented, "It's very simple - not what I'd call 'contemporary', but I wasn't arguing, it was nice to be recognised."
Congratulations to Keith Francis who's had a picture (Anchor Chains, see opposite) selected for the Royal Society of Marine Artists 2017 Annual Exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London.
Chosen from a record number of submissions this year, his picture will be on show at the exhibition at the Mall Galleries in central London between 5th and 14th October 2017.

A gloriously warm evening after
a day of 30 degree temperature!
In late June, WWAG member Helen Willson together with her husband John – who paints with the Chilterns Art Group in Risborough – held informal Open Studio and Garden Days at their house on Downley Common.
85 visitors enjoyed both the garden and the paintings, cards, jewellery and papercraft on show.
This was one of many events in the 2017 ‘Up! Downley Festival’, which over a three week period promotes community participation with music, food events, fetes, sports, family fun and an excellent art show with paintings, crafts and ceramics.
A scorching workshop session with Simon!
Thanks to Bill Hester for an enjoyable evening using oils pastels – a medium that not all of the Group had tried before. Thanks to Julie for the photos.
