The subject matter she prefers is landscape. Glenn likes to work outdoors, or from life as much as possible. Glenn uses mainly watercolour with some mixed media. At present she is experimenting with sharp contrasts of tone, using a minimum pallet of three or four colours, and the least number of strokes of the brush to capture the landscape. She adds additional contrast with Conte pencil. Glenn has recently increased her use of mixed media, and is a great admirer of Mike Bernard and his method of working. Using papers stuck on to the picture as a base and then putting in only 3 tones before using colour to complete the painting. Glenn’s inspiration
is the local country side and the foreign places she visits. |
