I attended the Wycombe School of Art in the
early 1960s and for as long as I can remember
art has always been my passion.

Since leaving art school I have been involved
in organising and implementing life drawing classes and I have undertaken courses relating to oils, watercolours, acrylics and the use of pen and ink.

Favourite media:
Oil, watercolour, ink

Pottery has also been an interest and a source of creativity. During my working life I was a manager at an art studio, which gave me a very different glimpse into life in the art world.

My inspiration comes from how I review colours, textures and rhythms within landscapes. Holiday destinations such as Iceland, Cyprus and my favourite areas of Dorset have provided me with all of the above and inspired my use of collage in my more recent work. At present, I am developing my understanding of working with acrylics further by using their vibrant colours together with the enhanced effects of mixed media.

For a number of years I have been a member of the West Wycombe Art Group and more recently was Chairman of the group. I am a member of the Visual Images Group and have exhibited for several years with Bucks Open Studios. For eight years I was part of a group that promoted art for patients at a hospice, this provided a social and creative environment for all concerned.

I am also delighted to be a member of the Bucks Art Society.
