The human form has tireless beauty,
life and movement.

I work with short poses, a few minutes
each pose – energetic, gestural drawing and
intense looking to capture the spirit and the essence of
‘aliveness’ of the figure. I use water fingers, ink and twig, water colour. Landscape painting is a response to the energy and language of the land itself and how it feels to be there. How can an artist do justice to the beauty and the magic of nature? So from the first response of drawing, mark making paint and colour I hope some fresh air breathes through the work.

SCULPTURE – high fired clay

Mythology has always resonated with me and my sculpture reflects the spirit of the model, be it Medusa or Ares or ‘Foxy Lady’. I leave cracks and space in the figures as these for the human ‘space’ within.
