Working in mixed media, I like to interpret the textures, shapes and colours of landscapes and still life in an expressive/stylised way.

I prefer not to follow a preconceived idea or to paint in an entirely representational way but to be process led, responding instinctively to the colours and marks with energy and letting the image appear and change, often with its ‘history’ visible in collaged and painted layers.

Each piece is very much an adventure into the unknown, with lots of trial and error ….but with (I hope!) some pleasing surprises and outcomes as part of the process! I paint with three Chilterns art groups - Studley Green, Studio 18 and as an Associate member of the West Wycombe Art Group. It remains a great compliment when someone chooses a painting that you have created.
